Veggie dating is cool! It's fun to fall in love, and even better when that person is nice to animals. There's no reason why we, as committed veggies, can't find people who share our values and outlook to share our lives with.
It's thought that in the UK there are about three to four million vegetarians, and while estimates vary, probably about 5% of the population are completely vegetarians, with many more being meat-reducers and "part-time" or uncommitted vegetarians. That's a lot of veggie fish in the sea! If you're hoping to meet someone who's a fellow veggie, it's highly likely that there's somebody just right for you out there.
In past times, veggies were often forced (sometimes unwillingly) to partner with meat-eaters just to get into a relationship. It led to some awkward moments, in the kitchen, in restaurants, at parties, and just getting along every day. The fridge could turn into a battle-ground, and cooking meat in the kitchen became a flashpoint for hurt and resentment.
Although in our experience, it is often the meat-eating partner of a veggie who would compromise the most, reducing meat, avoiding cooking it at home, and being sensitive to their veggie partner's sensibilities. There's many a meat-eater who's turned veggie simply by cohabiting with a veggie partner.
How much easier though, when these kinds of debates don't need to take place, because your new date is also a veggie! That's what Vegetarian Soulmates brings to the table. We're exclusively all veggie-dating only! All members of VS are (self-declared) veggies, vegans or somewhere in between.
